Social media people love pictures. And with stock image distributors like Getty or Shutterstock it’s pretty easy to get a fitting image for every occasion.
But sometimes that’s not enough. Sometimes you have to create something on your own like infographics, give an image a little effect, add a caption or simply resize it for different social media platforms. To make that easier for you we compiled a little list of free online tools, which will help you with your day to day image-business.
Piktochart
With Piktochart it’s super easy to create your own infographics. You can either start from scratch or use a couple of predefined templates, so you don’t have to worry about color schemes or typefaces. Piktochart is capable of visualizing complex data and also creating more basic graphics (e.g. to illustrate a single fact). The service offers a lot of shapes, patterns, icons, graphs, fonts etc. to get your creativity flowing.

infogr.am
If you’re looking for a quick and easy way to turn your excel tables into an infographic, infogr.am is the place to be. They offer really a lot of different ways to visualize your data (really, a lot!) and you can upload Excel and CSV files. The only downside is, that they don’t provide a lot of templates and you can’t really customize the design. Your finished graphic is embedable and also interactive, which is nice but makes sharing it a little more difficult.

easel.ly
If you’re not into using datasheets and more of a creative person, easel.ly might be your new favourite online tool. With its big amount of beautiful designs, elements and shapes and a super easy user interface the service still offers enough ways to make your message stand out.

Canva
Last year, online image-editing service Canva appeared out of nowhere and promised to combine awesome results with a hasslefree interface. And they kept their promise. With Canva literally everybody can create great images and collages with just a few clicks while also offering AI tools.
Unfortunately you still need an invite to get in, but with this link you should be able to gain access. Besides that Canva is 100% free, but offers some premium elements and stockphotos, which cost about 1$ each.
picmonkey
If Canva doesn’t offer enough bells and whistles for your needs, you should check out picmonkey. With a truckload of effects, designs, textures, shapes and other stuff it’s almost a little overwhelming and you can get easily lost in all the possibilities.

Social Media Image Maker
