A little while ago Facebook has made a change to link thumbnail image dimensions that will make them much more prominent.

The three most important things to watch out for if you want Facebook to properly display your pictures.
1. The right size
Obviously, stamp sized pictures are far from being optimal. For your pictures to be shown in Facebook’s new format they need to be at least 600px wide and 315px high. Of course larger dimensions make them more suitable for being a nice big preview picture. But…

The best looking picture won’t help if Facebook cuts off parts of it. To prevent that from happening, your pictures should have a ratio of 1.91:1. As you can see, in certain cases it might be a smart idea to seperately create a picture with the proper size just for your News Feed. But…
3. The right picture
How do you tell Facebook which picture is the one you want? It’s easier than you might think. Simply add an og:image Tag to your website’s header. You can easily integrate it into the head of your website and precisely tell Facebook what picture you want to use.
